I managed to talk myself overnight into keeping the membership for the time being, reasoning that what I pay right now is the equivalent of three online classes (with a NYC instructor) or five standalone local classes, and I could see going at least five times a month, and some of my favorite classes were never very crowded to begin with.
Plus I've been known to drop that much for a single meal or a pair of shoes. But of course the ever-present issue is that all the small expenditures accumulate, and how much am I borrowing against future security and/or playing contamination roulette. On my most pessimistic days I figure my odds aren't good so I might as well spend money now, but I'm hard-wired and trained to be more long-game-minded than that. Sigh indeed.
