But, my lord, it's such a beautiful world: the hollyhocks and roses and azalea and balloon flowers are still blooming, and there's this to listen to as I slice, tug, and grind:
Mostly weeds here too but at least they are yellow. Which contrasts nicely with the dark burgundy geraniums that are still hanging in. And this year, first time, common balsalm! I like it! different colors per stalk :) Good to hear from you and your weeds :)
Burgundy geraniums sound wonderful. Are they keeping away the bad bugs?
I know nothing about common (or uncommon, for that matter) balsam. Sounds like fun. How did you come across it?
There is a thin stretch of wilderness between my neighbor's fence and ours. I've been tossing dead zinnia heads in it in hopes of encouraging some rogue color to spring up in that patch next year.

I didn't know they kept away bad bugs! I just love the way they smell (and look) and wished I'd gotten more :/
